Yes, all our vehicles have insurance with excess. (For the excess read “WHAT IS THE EXCESS”)
You can pay in cash, by credit / debit card or by bank transfer.
You must come with your passport or ID card and driving license. To rent a scooter or motorbike with CafeMotorbike you must have a current and valid driving license according to Spanish laws and have good experience driving the vehicle you rent
PROVISIONAL LICENSES, PHOTOCOPIES, PHOTOS OR VARIOUS CERTIFICATES OF THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED.
The minimum requirements for our rental locations in Spain are identified below. The categories mentioned correspond to the official categories of the European driving license. Good experience driving the rented vehicle is required.
- SCOOTER 125 cc: Min. 21 years, A1/A or Min 21 years and 3 years of experience with B
- SCOOTER From 300cc : Min. 21 years and A or A2 category driving license
- MOTORCYCLE up to 35 KW : Min. 25 years and A or A2 category driving license
- MOTORCYCLE over 35 KW : Min. 25 years and A category driving license
Note: If your driver license is not from a country of the European Economic Union or from a country without convenience agreement with Spain, you need to have an international driving permit (IDP). Likewise, the valid documents are regulated by the law stated by the country where you are driving, not the document’s origin country.
YES. For the rental scooter or motorbike it is necessary to pay a security deposit. The deposit can be paid in CASH or by CREDIT CARD. However, in the case of a Card Deposit, this will not be charged to your card unless an event occurs requiring it.
If, however, you request the extension of the PLUS guarantee, a reduced deposit will be required depending on the model.
The security deposit with seguro BASIC is:
- Scooter 125: € 150
- Scooter Maxi: € 200
- Moto: € 400 or € 500
The security deposit can be paid in cash or by credit card and will be refunded at the end of the lease.5
You are fully covered by third party insurance. For damage or theft caused to the scooter or motorbike, the insurance reduces the amount to be paid to an excess – in case of compliance with the rental contract. There is also the possibility of obtaining a reduction in the deductible with PLUS insurance.
SCOOTER
The insurance which is already included in the rental price covers third party damages. Additionally, it also includes road assistance. The damages on the scooter or theft are covered with a excess from 100€ to 700€, depending on scooter type.
Third party insurance with full coverage in the event of an accident, up to €50,000,000 per accident.
Limited medical assistance to the driver and passenger up to €6,000 within 365 days after the accident.
Compensation in case of death of the driver: €6,000.
Compensation in case of permanent disability: Up to €6,000, depending on the severity of the injury.
Please note that insurance does not cover damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol, off-road driving or failure to comply with the provisions of the rental agreement.
MOTO
INSURANCE – BASIC -.Third party vehicle insurance only.
Third party insurance with full coverage in the event of an accident, up to €50,000,000 per accident.
Limited medical assistance to the driver and passenger up to €6,000 within 365 days after the accident.
Compensation in case of death of the driver: €6,000.
Compensation in case of permanent disability: Up to €6,000, depending on the severity of the injury.
Please note that insurance does not cover damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol, off-road driving or failure to comply with the provisions of the rental agreement.
INSURANCE – PLUS -. Optional insurance available with a payment per day of rental.
It provides vehicle coverage in the event of a breakdown or accident, with an excess from €600 to €1,000 depending on the model.
Third party insurance with full coverage in the event of an accident, up to €50,000,000 per accident.
Medical assistance for the driver and passenger up to €600 within 365 days after the accident.
Compensation in case of death of the driver: €6,000.
Compensation in case of permanent disability: Up to €6,000, depending on the severity of the injury.

YES. You can purchase PLUS insurance with different access reduction limits in the event of damage or theft of your scooter or motorbike.
The EXCESS is the maximum amount that you will be charged in the event of damage or accident to the motorbike/scooter through your fault. The excess can be significantly reduced with additional insurance.
For example: EXCESS €200
Damage €70.00. You will be charged €70
Damage €500. You will be charged €200
When collecting the motorbike you will only pay the value of the deposit NOT the value of the excess
Yes, it is possible to have the scooter delivered to your hotel/apartment or a shuttle service from your hotel/apartment to our office in Los Cristianos. Yes, you can change your booking by sending your request to booking@cafemotorbike.com or by writing a whatsapp to +343736411.
If you no longer wish to collect the rented scooter or motorbike, we kindly ask you to cancel the reservation immediately, in order to make the motorbike or scooter available again for other customers. To cancel a booking you can reply to the confirmation email you received or write to WhatsApp +34643736411. Everything is absolutely free.
The renter is required to inform the rental shop in advance of any contract extensions and CAFEMOTORBIKE will check whether the vehicle is available for an extension. If you do not inform CAFEMOTORBIKE in advance, we will charge a fee of €50 per day in addition to the maximum daily cost of the rented vehicle. Additionally, it is illegal to drive with an expired rental agreement. In the event that the renter wishes to extend the contract it is necessary to inform the shop and obtain an updated contract, which can be collected in the shop or sent via email.
Unfortunately, no. Once started the rental the amount paid will not be refunded. We do not make money refunds if the renter returns the scooter (or/and extras) before the date and time mentioned in the contract.
